How to produce EXEs that only contain printable ASCII

Dr. Tom Murphy (@tom7) wrote a paper about “compilers, bits and assembly” – it is about producing DOS-executable EXE file which contain the limited set of only the printable ASCII bytes. In principle, he explains which steps to be taken and some necessary tricks/workarounds when writing a C89 compiler to fulfil these requirements.
